Hi, it’s Jillian Barberie and this is my podcast Ask Jillian. You might know me from Good Day LA or FOX NFL on Sunday, but I’m pretty sure it was Sharknado 4 where I was eaten alive! For years I was the one asking the questions on TV shows, radio interviews and Red Carpets but I’ve realized at this point in my life I’m the one that needs a lot of questions answered. I mean these last few years have been a doozy, at times I haven’t had a clue which way to go except simply forward. So I want to start on a journey with all of you. This is about having open and deep discussions with old friends and new ones about their lives, getting or even giving advice and having some laughs together. There will be celebs, experts in various fields and other very interesting characters from my life, we’re going to cover it all! I’ve never been known for playing it safe and I’m not starting now, no subject is off limits! Career. Marriage. Divorce.
Single Mom. Kids. Boyfriends (yeah I’ve got stories of some famous men). Adoption. Molestation. Finding my birth family. Makeup. Fashion. Design. Sex. Friendships. Cancer. My Truth! So let’s get started.
Ask Jillian!
Ep. 10 Jason Ellis is an EVERYman up for ANYTHING!
Jason Ellis is a radio host, professional skateboarder, mixed martial arts fighter, truck racer, boxer, rock singer, actor, and New York Times best-selling author … he’s really an everyman!
In this episode we talk about his childhood in Australia, coming to America, his sexuality, dealing with his substance abuse, his epic and career defining appearances on the Howard Stern show. Who could ever forget George Takei’s birthday show when Jason’s penis was the present!
We also discuss how Jason used MDMA therapy to remember and confront his childhood sexual abuse. How being molested is part of what defines both Jason and myself as adults and then how we parent our children.
Once Jason came out as bisexual, he started using dating apps with various levels of success and how being sexually open has affected his marriages.
In so many ways Jason has been fighting his whole life but he is truly a WINNER!
Ep. 9 Lisa Guerrero chases the bad guys in high heels and gets them!
Lisa Guerrero is an Award-Winning Investigative Journalist, Actor, Artist and Writer who will chase bad guys in her heels with a microphone to get the story and justice!
In this episode we talk about Lisa’s experiences as a Rams cheerleader, Best Damn Sports Show Period, working the NFL sidelines for FOX and ABC and what it was like for both of us to work in the male-dominated sports world.
Also some of Lisa’s legendary investigations with Inside Edition, she is relentless on behalf of victims. The scam artists never know what hit them!
Even though she played a villain on the soap opera Sunset Beach she is truly a sweetheart! Lisa is a blast to travel with, we talk about spending the holidays in London together and how we almost had a threesome!
Lisa and I have always had each others backs and I am very proud to call her my friend!
Ep. 8 Mick Foley is truly a LEGEND!!!
Mick Foley aka Cactus Jack, Mankind, Dude Love is a WWE Legend, New York Times best-selling Author, Actor, Stand Up Comic, Father and an all-around great guy. I am a huge fan!
We discuss in this episode “The Three Faces of Foley,” some of his biggest matches against The Undertaker, Triple H and one of his most iconic versus The Rock.
All of Mick’s injuries have given him the well deserved title of “The Hardcore Legend.” He is a three time WWF Champion and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Once Mick retired from the ring, he fully pursued his passion for Santa Claus by writing Christmas Chaos a children's book, Tales from Wrescal Lane and A Most Mizerable Christmas. He performs a one man show across the country, be sure to get tickets if you have a chance.
Mick is an amazing father, husband and advocate for many causes, he’s truly a renaissance man and I could have spoken and laughed with him for hours!
Ep. 7 Debra Tate is a Warrior Woman!
Debra Tate is a Victims’ Advocate, Humanitarian, Author, Sister, Mother, Cancer Survivor, Friend and an all-round BADASS!
We met over 20yrs ago when I reached out to Debra about getting Sharon Tate, her older sister, a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Sharon still doesn’t have a Star and that is wrong!
I have always admired Debra’s tireless conviction for justice, her whole life has been dedicated to protecting Sharon’s legacy. We have become dear friends and I have supported Debra in any way I can since the day we met. I have gone to parole hearings with her and helped with the ongoing petitions to keep the Manson Family members from receiving parole.
In this episode we discuss the day Sharon was murdered and how Debra at 16 years old was told, the Manson Family, Once Upon Time in Hollywood, Quentin Tarantino, and both of our journeys with breast cancer.
I am honored to call Debra Tate my friend, she is a true Warrior Woman who I would go into battle with any day!
Ep. 6 Michael McDonald is scary … talented!
Michael McDonald is an actor, director, writer, producer, stand-up comic and he’s hilarious! He was one of the stars of the comedy show MADtv. Who could forget the genius of Stuart Larkin and so many other classic characters he created? MADtv is where we met when I was in a sketch called Prehistoric Glamazon Huntress: A.D., I think it was typecasting but I nailed it anyway! We discuss his start in Hollywood at The Groundlings, being Melissa McCarthy’s teacher, his roots in horror films with Roger Corman and scene-stealing abilities in Spy and Ghostbusters. Michael was the perfect guest with stories about Kathy Griffin, comedy and crime. He even surprises me with a Mary Kay Letourneau connection.
Ep. 5 Recap of Kate del Castillo and Jessica Maldonado - Blame it on the TE...TE...TEQUILA!
Liz and I recap our Kate del Castillo and Jessica Maldonado episode because honestly I barely remember it due to Kate’s delicious Honor tequila. Who knew you weren’t supposed to drink tequila from a wine goblet x 2! We also discuss some other boozy tales in our lives, how Liz almost ended up in a ravine and how I don’t plan on mixing my liquor again!
Ep. 4 Kate del Castillo and Jessica Maldonado are my amigas!
Kate del Castillo is an actress, telenovela royalty from her iconic role in La Reina del Sur and Netflix's Ingobernable and a human rights activist. Kate is currently starring In Bad Boys 3 and she is truly badass herself! Jessica Maldonado is Kate’s ride-or-die friend. She was a correspondent for El Gordo y La Flaca and is Kate’s producing and podcast partner. Kate and I met years ago at the Celebrity Toyota Grand Prix and became fast friends … I did a racing pun! We have been through a lot together over the years with the El Chapo scandal, my divorce and fun parties at her house with amazing Mariachi’s. BUT I’m not sure how clear any of that is in this podcast because Kate brought her Honor Tequila and we all had some. It got a bit off track … another racing pun! I don’t think we ever finished one story! So maybe pour yourself a shot of Honor Tequila while listening because it's a wild one!
Ep. 3 Lauren Sivan not just “The Potted Plant Girl”
Lauren Sivan is a news and radio personality who took on the spotlight of national attention when she shared her own shocking Harvey Weinstein story. She became known as the “potted plant girl” but everyone should know her as more than that because she’s amazing! We talk about our days at FOX, how they were interviewing her under my nose for my job, the #metoo movement, to have kids or not and how much we love Drunk History … she nailed her appearance as Barbara Walters. Lauren is a funny, powerful woman. A Shero! I am proud to call her my friend.
Ep. 2 Greg Grunberg you’ll always be my first … guest!
Greg Grunberg is GREAT! We talk about so much. His acting career, Felicity, Lost, Alias, Heroes, A Star is Born (get ready for some Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga stories) and of course Star Wars! Hello Snap Wexley! Greg’s been best friends with
J.J. Abrams since they were 5! We talk about his family and his charity that’s working to find a cure for epilepsy. His bands. His action figure and his graphic novels. He has a lot going on and he’s so fun! Love you Greg Grunberg!
Ep. 1 Ask Jillian - Let’s Get Started!
